Richmond's parents were Francis Hart Dalton and Emerine "Biddy"
Coyle. Francis was born 21 May 1795 in Albermarle County, VA amd died 20 May
1863 of Tyhoid fever at home in DeKalb County, MO. Biddy was born 1805 in
Madison County, KY and died 1886 in Virgil, KS. They were married 2 Nov 1823
in Madison County, KY. Their children were Simeon, Martha, Thomas, Frances
Decataur, Richmond and Margaret. Francis was 5' 10" tall, light complexion,
gray hair, blue eyes. He was in civil war serving with Michael Ryans Company
H 4th Regiment Missouri Union Calvery. He enlisted in the Missouri State
Militia May 17, 1862 and was mustered in May 19, 1862. He gave his age as 53.
He was acutally 67 years old. He furnished a horse and equipment to the
Militia Cavalry. He had a nephew George Washington Dalton - son of Elijah -
who was in the 4th Iowa Infantry; his brother John was in the Iowa 1st
Infantry and a brother in law (married to Eliza Jane Dalton) in the Iowa 1st
Infantry (Reuben Miles)
Francis father was Natham Isham (Isom) Dalton and mother Elizabeth Thompson
